I'm Joseph, a Full-Stack Engineer in NYC. Welcome to my site.

I am an adaptable fast pace learner, using or creating whatever tools necessary to see my ideas come to life. I graduated from St. John's University obtaining my Bachelors of Science majoring in Computer Science.
Following my Graduation I went on to attended the Flatiron School where I learned Full-Stack software development in 15 weeks. There I worked alongside fellow developers both in-person and remotely to build several applications that you can check out below.

- After diving into the fundamentals of programming, students get comfortable with object-oriented programming and storing databases using SQL and Object Relational Mappers.

- Students learn two key Ruby frameworks, first mastering the fundamentals of web programming with Sinatra before experiencing how quickly they can build incredible apps with Rails.

Javascript

- Students gain a thorough understanding of Javascript, crucial for front-end developers.

Front-end Frameworks

- Students learn to build productive, scalable front-ends with React and Redux, creating slick, functional, reactive code with Rails as the back-end JSON API.

Solo Projects

- After completing four curriculum modules focused on group projects, students work with instructors to come up with solo project concepts and spend three full weeks building truly sophisticated applications on their own.

Social media website that allows users to categorize and share their collection of plants.

- Single page frontend application built using React and designed with Material-UI.
- Utilized React Router for client side routing as well as nested routes.
- Active Storage for photo storage in the backend, stored to Amazon S3 Web Services.
- Created a Rails API following MVC patterns using Postgres.
- Deployed and hosted on Netlify for frontend and Heroku for the backend.

Movie Reviews Website 🎬

A full stack web application for Movie Reviews with live movie data.

- Backend created using Ruby on Rails, ActiveRecord, and SQLite.
- Utilized The Movie Database API to pull, parse and seed data on all the most popular movies.
- Implemented user interface employing HTML with Ruby and Bootstrap for styling.

Demo Frontend Backend

A full stack web application having the same basic functionality of Youtube using live data.

- Created a single page front end utilizing React styled with React Bootstrap.
- Developed a Rails API backend using MVC patterns.
- Utilized Fetch and state to allow persistent User Created Playlists.
- Live database seeding of videos with detailed information using YouTube Data API.
